Privacy policy
This site is a simple set of pages about an electrical business, with one booking form. It has no login, no shop and no analytics, so there is not much to tell you. Here it is in full.
Who is responsible
This website is run by Dargavel Contracts Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (SC627255) whose director is Gary Campbell, based in Bishopton, Renfrewshire. For anything on this page you can reach us at dargavelcontracts@gmail.com or on 07920 875838.
Because the business works from a home address, correspondence is by phone, message or email rather than by post.
What this website collects
Reading these pages collects nothing. There is no login, no newsletter, no analytics or tracking script, no advertising pixel, and no third party content embedded from anywhere else.
The booking form asks for your name, a phone number, where the job is and what needs doing, plus an email address and any notes if you choose to add them. When you press send it is emailed to us through Cloudflare's email service and lands in the business mailbox, which is a Google (Gmail) account, and it is used only to come back to you about the job. Nothing is stored on this website itself. If no work follows, the message is deleted within twelve months.
The one thing the site can store is a single item in your own browser recording whether you dismissed the cookie notice. It stays on your device, it is never sent anywhere, and it is described in full in the cookie policy.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc.). Like any host, Cloudflare keeps ordinary technical logs of requests, which may include the IP address of the device requesting a page, the time of the request and the page requested, and uses them only to deliver the pages and keep the site running and secure. Cloudflare has servers around the world and processes that data as our processor under its UK GDPR data-processing terms.
What happens if you get in touch
If you phone, text, WhatsApp, email or use the booking form, we will have whatever you choose to tell us: usually your name, your number or email address, the address of the job, what you want done and any photographs you send. We use that information to give you a price and a time and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work and keep the company's business records.
The lawful bases for this are the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, performance of that contract once agreed, and the legal obligation to keep proper accounting records.
Job records are kept for as long as needed to run the job and honour any workmanship discussion afterwards, and financial records are kept for the period company and tax law requires. Your details are not sold, rented or passed to anyone for marketing.
Information may be shared where it genuinely has to be, for example with the company's accountant, with a wholesaler arranging a delivery to your address, or where the law requires it. WhatsApp messages pass through WhatsApp's own service under its terms.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to it being used in a particular way, or ask that its use be restricted. Ask by phone or email and it will be dealt with without charge, normally within one month.
- Right of access to your information
- Right to have inaccurate information corrected
- Right to erasure, where the information is no longer needed and no legal duty requires it to be kept
- Right to restrict or object to particular uses
- Right to receive information you provided in a portable form
If you are unhappy with how a request has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Links to other places
This site links out to the business's Google, MyBuilder and Facebook pages and to WhatsApp. Once you follow a link you are on that service and its privacy terms apply, not these. The same goes for a phone or email link, which simply hands over to the app on your own device.
Changes
If the site ever gains an online calendar, a payment step or anything else that collects information, this page will be updated before that goes live.
